My name is Tayo Talabi, I am a 29-year-old Nigerian American writer/producer who writes stories that demolish the monolithic views placed on people color and colorfully create narratives that exude the multifaceted emotion depth that they have. “A hero is someone who is brave for a little bit longer”.

Additional Project Info

As a way to process my emotions, contemplate my belief in God and integrate my Nigerian culture and my love of storytelling, I wrote Gods Among Us as a way to find comfort in the unknown possibilities of having hope in something you cannot see or feel. If time permits please view my short trailer for my script (https://youtu.be/wwep8SD_tUQ) it sets the mood/tone of the story. My goal is to have this made in any way possible whether it be live-action or animated. (Please note the DIALOGUE in my script is plain present-day English without slang. Given that this is the way Nigerians of the present-day speak when they need to speak “proper English”, I do not want wish to use old English (or King Arthur like English) because realistically speaking this story was supposed to be during a time before Europe invaded. I also avoided using ‘Nigerian broken English’ due to artistic reasons (this may change if I am allotted a west African translator)).
