Destroyers (previously titled 'Blacktop') has been optioned twice, as an Australian film and then an Australian-French film, until I walked away from the latter deal recently. It has been rewritten to be set in California and Nevada, among other improvements, and I now seek US representation and producers for the project. The script won Best Action/Adventure in the Final Draft Big Break Contest and made top-2% of the Nicholl Fellowship. There is also a potentially more mainstream version of the script that can be provided on request. The script continues to evolve with rewrites. The project concept is a female-led action movie that provides the thrills of the genre for a young mainstream audience, while also providing complex characters and subtext on rising inequality and climate change.
