I was a lawyer for many years, at the top of my game, when it all changed. I went through significant personal and health crises, and had to leave my career a number of years ago. I was lost, feeling as if I had been “sent to the junkyard”, through no fault of my own, struggling to find my worth. Blinky came about as a way for me to explore and work through the loss of my career/identity. Now, just like Blinky, I accept myself as-is and see my value. There’s nothing special I have to do and no “competitions” I have to win. All I have to do is be myself. Blinky is me. Blinky is not just about a car, it’s about aging, it’s about friendship, it’s about family, it’s about love, it’s about loyalty, and it’s about living to your full potential, with respect and self-worth. As I reflect back, what happened to me all those years ago was a blessing in disguise – through my crises, Blinky was born.
