Additional Project Info
First 22 pages filmed and put on the festival circuit as a short proof of concept. Awards from SXSW, Urbanworld, Newport Beach Film Festival, Seriesfest, Catalyst Stories. We received a grant from the Warner 150 Foundation which helped us make this portion. We have attached Javier Muñoz (Broadway Star, Lead in Hamilton, In The Heights on Broadway). Besides being an incredible actor and singer, Javier, like the character he portrays lives with AIDS. He is also authentically Puerto Rican and was raised in east New York Brooklyn. We also attached Emmy nominated actress, Susanna Guzman. Susanna is authentically bred in Brownsville Brooklyn. In the role of Carmen, we have Karina Ortiz. Karina is known for her roles on OITNB, and Long Road Home. She will appear next on the latest iteration of Walking Dead. The 8 year old version of our protagonist is played by Imagen Impact Award winner, Summer Rose Castillo. Summer is a Puerto Rican girl raised in Bronx, NY. She currently stars as Alma in the Fred Rogers Animated Series for PBS Kids, Alma's Way. Our team of producers include Leslie V. Cohen, a former head of Acquisitions at HBO.
