Principal photography will begin on August 4 near Da Nang and in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam til August 11, 2023. Permits from the Vietnamese government have been obtained. In addition to the historical figures young Khai Ly will meet, there will be additional beats with younger women in Vietnam to get their perspective on the sacrifices of their grandmothers' generation during the Vietnam War. After this round of filming, the producers will plan out the re-creation shoot to be completed later this summer.
