A note while reading: Eagle feathers are a deeply important part of sacred ceremony and connected to each tribal member's life in Indigenous culture. To receive an eagle feather is to receive a gift from the Creator. In the writer's tribal culture, each individual is given an eagle feather at birth or a young age and then is buried with their feather as part of ceremony to carry with them as they journey beyond death.
