*WINNER Best Screenplay - LA Femme International Film Fest, Second Rounder - Austin Film Fest* The Last Book is a female-driven dystopian fantasy with a diverse cast. It's a cautionary tale we need now, as we stand on the shore of unleashing AI, waist-deep in social media, and treading water amongst division that doesn't allow for universal facts. Incorporating the power of Fantasy that immerses us and allows us to examine uncomfortable truths at a safe distance, our story weaves with beloved threads pulled from great literature and cinematic nods to 1984, Fahrenheit 451, The Handmaid's Tale, and Black Mirror; all of which pluck that deep common heartstring that sings, "beware." We present this intricate dance via the mise en abyme magic also seen in The Neverending Story and The Princess Bride. The Last Book seeks to spark important dialogue and self-inspection, after inducing an initial wave of pure delight. Both the film and marketing aim to break the fourth wall and personalize the experience to the observer who could very well hear the call to action along with our hero.
