The characters have unique voices, and the depth of their personalities is realistic. The story's context gives appropriate goals for the characters. Our narrative gives each character a flaw they must overcome to achieve those goals. The complex characters have an added twist of an alternate history using an alternative version of the post-2020s, a transition of democratic leadership into a brutal authoritarian regime changing our institutions through misinformation and political violence.
