Modupe Thompson is a Nigerian American dramedy writer and director who tells stories centered around strong female characters dealing with themes of identity and belonging. She's currently a story editor on Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble's HBO Max show, The Sex Lives of College Girls.
Nigerian American, Modupe Thompson, is currently a Writers’ Assistant for David West Read’s “The Big Door Prize” for Apple TV+ and was previously the Writers’ Assistant for Mindy Kaling’s “The Sex Lives of College Girls” on HBO. In her writing, she uses witty tongue-in-cheek humor to bring levity to the stories of misfits in dark situations. She is inspired by her own experience being one of the few BIPOC students to attend a predominantly white conservative Christian school in the south to write stories centered around women of color coming into their own.
