Oakland native Deion Higginbotham is bursting onto the scene with a fresh WarnerMedia x American Black Film Festival Writers Competition win. Drawn to genre stories, Deion specializes in worldbuilding, Adventist storytelling, and using fantasy to reimagine life as we know it. Deion strives to create new worlds while grounding them in personal relationships, as well as telling complex stories about Black people. As he begins taking meetings, Deion is on the hunt for representation.
