Threading the needle between a dark comedy, zany farce, and introspective drama with sci-fi elements is certainly not an easy execution. And, while there are shows/films with comparable tones – Netflix’s BEEF and Amazon’s SWARM for comedy – Annapurna’s HER and A24’s EX-MACHINA for grounded sci-fi – we knew that assembling a team that both excels at and is eager to build our unique tone would be paramount.
