Of the Dead is a silent zombie action-thriller -- from the perspective of the zombies. The zombie apocalypse is implied to have begun on Halloween in West Hollywood. Some years later, we jump into a Los Angeles overrun with zombies in Halloween costumes who pantomime sad, repetitive muscle memory of their human lives -- until "The Knight," so named for his costume, encounters a terrifying, zombie-hunting Mickey Mouse. "Mickey" unwittingly leads The Knight and his horde to the last human enclave, on the old Warner Bros lot, where he rules with an iron fist over a ritualistic military culture where rank is visualized via assigned Halloween costumes. We discover that The Knight's lost human daughter, "Princess," has been trying to escape. With the help of "Captain America" and "Spider-Gwen" -- two women in the military hierarchy who are fed up with Mickey's cruelty -- Princess stages a daring escape that turns out to coincide with the perfect cover: a full-on zombie attack by The Knight and his friends, culminating in a reunion between father and daughter that bridges the gap between the living and the dead.
