Only one can be true. But which? Oneirophrenia. SHORT SYNOPSIS: In 2023 hundreds of millions of people died. There is a time before and a time after and Doctor Cassandra Lake. A RACE AGAINST TIME In Greek mythology Cassandra is fated with the gift of prophecy. But is destined never to be believed. So it is for Cassandra Lake: NASA researcher, amnesiac and our protagonist. A strong, intelligent and determined woman who refuses to give up, even when the odds are stacked against her. TO PUT RIGHT THE WRONGS As one of DARTs leading researchers she helped design the mission that would save humanity. But she's at a loss - she’s woken on the floor of her wrecked apartment building, the world is on fire and she has no memory. TO SAVE EVERYONE Unable to remember the past, and under constant threat from the future, she pieces together what she can with help from her research assistant ALAN CARTER - a self centred lovable irritant and ANDREA FIELDING her sleep therapist and friend. She slips out of the past and into future, and back from the future into the past - to see the horror, and build a picture of the world's disturbing end. OR THE SURVIVORS OF THE DISASTER. From one place to the next, the injuries she carries and the memories she builds, convince her that she can change the outcome. But something isn't isn't right. WHAT IS REAL The doctor says she’s pregnant even though she can't be. The test machine’s feeding back when it shouldn't. And a black disembodied figure stalks her across time.
