Nishima Gupta is an Indian-American writer and filmmaker who aims to portray different experiences of South Asian culture beyond what is mainstream and spark conversations within the community that have long been comfortable in the dark. Gaining attention for her first pilot INDIAPENDENT, based on her life experience and wildly popular Huffpost article “My Indian Parents Got Divorced and It Was the Best Thing That Happened to Us”, she is now developing a South Asian dance show with producer Aanch Khaneja. Daylighting as a Showrunner’s Assistant to Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (DYNASTY, GOSSIP GIRL, THE OC), Nishima is seeking literary representation.
