A Lynchian psychological thriller about body image and repressed sexuality, Underbelly is inspired by the writer's experiences at the infamous Camp Shane, a contemporary of the camp featured on the early-aughts hit "MTV's Fat Camp." Camp Shane shut its doors after decades of prescribing dangerous weight loss solutions to children (mostly girls).
