Gareth Smith is an award-winning writer and producer, with credits on Jeff Nichols’ ‘Mud’ (2013), which premiered in-competition at the Cannes Film Festical, and Danny Boyle’s multi-Oscar-nominated ‘127 Hours’ (2012). In his executive role for New York-based production company Everest Entertainment, he also worked on ‘Win Win’ (2011) and ‘Mother and Child’ (2010), and has consulted independently on a number of other projects, produced and in-development. Since shifting his focus to writing, Gareth earned an MA with distinction in Screenwriting for TV & Film from Royal Holloway University of London, and has originated a diverse slate of projects across various formats and genres. His scripts have been recognised by multiple fellowships and festivals, including the Grand Prize in the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards for his dramatic feature ‘Immaculate’, which also ranked in the top-20% by the Academy Nicholl Fellowship and was subsequently picked up for development. More recently, his TV drama ‘Highwire’ was named on the Tracking Board Launch Pad’s Top-50 Pilots of 2018.
