Diverse Voices strives to provide a contest that is purely focused on promoting and encouraging diverse voices in Hollywood. The contest encourages stories that are told from perspectives that are often underrepresented in Hollywood today -- according to the WGA diversity report that is writers of color, women writers, and writers over the age of 40. However, we'd also love to see stories from the perspective of writers with disabilities, writers in the LGBTQ+ community, and any other voice that is currently underrepresented by Hollywood today.

Diverse Voices winners have gone on to be signed by top Hollywood management companies and have had their projects optioned. Every winner receives a 3-month period to develop their project with a reader from Netflix, HBO, Fox, Disney, or another major network or studio. After the develoment period, WeScreenplay promotes the winners to managers and agents to help the writers get representation. The industry is extremely hungry for diverse perspectives and the contest has lead to many success stories. The grand prize winner also receives a $1,000 cash grant.
