The UK Film Festival is not just about awarding scriptwriters.

They are keen to discover writers that may not yet have been produced and to get their scripts into production. UKFF Script Competitions have a proven track record of getting scripts optioned and into production.

For example - last years  winning script, "The Choosing" by Emerson Adams has now been made by GoldFilms as "The House Always Wins" and is premiering on 23rd July 2025. Previous winner, "The Attendant" be Stavros Pamballis was produced by Iron Box Films and another recent winner "Like I Said" by Jolyon White was produced by 10 Days Productions. "3 Guys Walk into an Elevator" by Jonathan Bogaslavski is now in post-production. These are the most recently made films in a string of successfully produced and award winning films from winning scripts all the way back to 2014's winner "Mike" and 2015's winner "A Confession" that both multiaward winning including winning the Berlin Film Festival and gained prestigious distribution deals. "Mike" also showed at Sundance.

Besides the prestige of winning awards and the accompanying publicity, UKFF also promotes their winning scripts to production companies at the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin Film Festival Markets .
