Rules
Eligibility:
The competition welcomes submissions from independent, established, and aspiring women screenwriters globally. We particularly encourage entries from individuals identifying as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and non-binary.
Submission Process:
Submit projects electronically.
Include a brief bio, and contact information, and specify the category (Feature, Short, TV Pilot) in the submission.
Original Content:
All entries must be original works. If written by a team, at least one female member must be credited on the title page.
Submission Categories:
Feature Screenplays: 90–125 pages.
Short Screenplays: under 45 pages.
TV Pilots: 1/2 hour up to 38 pages and Hour up to 65.
Originality:
Entrants must hold the rights to submitted screenplays.
Formatting:
Submissions should adhere to industry standards.
Language:
Entries must be in English.
Multiple Submissions:
Participants can submit entries in multiple categories, but a separate entry fee is required for each submission.
Refunds:
Entry fees are non-refundable in cases of submissions to the wrong category, accidental duplicates, or withdrawals after the deadline.
Prizes:
Each category may receive prizes, including cash awards, mentorship opportunities, or script consultations.
Judging Criteria:
Screenplays will be evaluated on originality, creativity, inclusivity, character development, and overall storytelling. TV Pilots will be judged on episode structure, series potential, intrigue, character introduction, world-building, dialogue, and dynamics.
Publicity:
Winning entries may be publicized by ITWIFF for promotional purposes.
Rights:
Participants grant ITWIFF the right to use their names and submitted materials for promotional purposes.
Changes to Rules:
ITWIFF reserves the right to modify competition rules if necessary.
Compliance:
Participants are responsible for ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations.
