When Luke Skywalker lost control against Darth Vader in THE RETURN OF THE JEDI, the brutal swings of his lightsaber advanced the story of his character. In MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, the operatic chase sequence bound every character, plot point, and theme together. And when ATTACK THE BLOCK wove together genres in an epic tale of alien invasion, the relatable, authentic teenaged leads ensured that the action felt real.
A great action-adventure story is the best example of “Show, don’t tell.” Only a very special writer can keep their characters growing and their story engaging even as a conflict escalates higher and higher.
The Emerging Screenwriting team welcomes all interpretations of the Action & Adventure genres. From grand conflicts that redefine what is possible in film, to unique entries that blend action with comedy, drama, or both, we are eager to read your material and share with our list of mentors, partners or industry connections (see below list) for option or production consideration.
