About

The Writers Lab UK & I is a script development programme for woman-identifying writers over 40 in the UK & Ireland. The lab will be held virtually 10-13 June 2021, with Post-Lab virtual mentoring sessions July-November.

At the Lab, Mentors and Writers engage in rigorous script development through one-on-one meetings, panel discussions, peer workshops, mock writers rooms and more, followed by 5-months of post-lab development, support, and mentoring. Stay tuned as we add details and mentors to our roster.

Submissions of both Features and Pilots (both 1-hour and ½-hour) will be accepted for consideration. Up to 12 writers reflecting the diversity of the populations across Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland will be selected.

Benefits

Over 4 days, with 5 months of post-lab development support, 12 screenwriters from across all regions of the UK & Ireland will be mentored by some of the industry's best writers and producers in one-on-one and group sessions to develop their scripts and their craft, and to build tools and strategies to achieve success. For details about the programme and Mentors, please visit The Writers Lab UK & I.

Writer Success

Being part of The Writers Lab UK & Ireland 2021 is one of the best experiences I've had as a writer. This is a program that delivers on everything it offers, including detailed script analysis and development, mentorship and industry introductions, all with a view to getting the script into development. There is also ongoing support from both the Lab and other participants via the peer group network. I consider myself fortunate to be selected as a participant for this program and could not recommend it highly enough.
