The Grand Prize Winning script will be produced into a high-quality short film with a budget of $50,000 in cash and production services to make the film.
SCRIPT2SCREENS will make one screenwriter’s dream a reality by having their screenplay made by working Hollywood industry professionals into a proof of concept short film, which can stand alone in film festivals or be used as a sizzle reel for pitches to producers. In addition, the FOUR award-winners will receive a one-on-one meeting with one of our A-Level Industry Judges, in addition to a plethora of amazing prizes.
If your dream is to be a screenplay writer or filmmaker, you essentially need two things:
1) A high-quality project to showcase your work to Producers and studio executives.
2) Industry Access to these high-powered decision-makers.
This contest gives you both!

You have a choice:
A) You can direct the short yourself.
B) One of our award winning directors can direct the short film.

GRAND PRIZE:
-The Grand Prize Winning short film script will be produced into a high-quality short film with a budget of $50,000 in cash and production services to make the film.

-If chosen outside of Los Angeles, the Grand Prize Winner will receive a planet ticket and hotel stay for the duration of the shoot.
-One hour consultation with A-List Camera Operator provided by the Society of Camera Operators.

The judges include Oscar winners Mark Johnson and Tom Ortenberg, Arthur Sarkissian, Steven Conrad, Jackie Tepper, Steven Schneider and Raquelle David. Their Producer credits collectively include, but are not limited to: Spotlight, Crash, Rain Man, The Notebook, Better Call Saul, the Rush Hour series, the Walking Dead, While You Were Sleeping, The Pursuit of Happyness, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Chronicles of Narnia, Split, Glass and more.
STEVEN CONRAD is an American screenwriter, producer, and director, sold his first screenplay at the age of 19. He scripted and directed The Pursuit of Happyness and The Weatherman (which he also produced). Conrad also wrote, produced, and directed two seasons of Patriot streaming on Amazon Prime Video and Perpetual Grace, LTD on Epix.
MARK JOHNSON is an American film and television producer who won the Best Picture Academy Award for producing the 1988 drama, Rain Man, starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. He also produced The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and three BAFTAs, winning one of each. More recently, Johnson was an executive producer on Breaking Bad, Rectify, and Better Call Saul.
TOM ORTENBERG served as CEO at Open Road Films, the theatrical distribution company founded by AMC Entertainment and Regal Entertainment Group. He spent over 12 years at Lionsgate Entertainment, serving as President of Theatrical Films until he left in 2009 to take the same position at The Weinstein Company. He was named by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the most influential people in Independent Film.
ARTHUR M. SARKISSIAN is an Armenian-American film producer mainly known for the Rush Hour series. His work as a producer also consists of major blockbusters like While You Were Sleeping (1995), Last Man Standing (1996), and The Foreigner (2017).
STEVEN SCHNEIDER is one of the go-to experts in genre films. Following the record-breaking success of 2009’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, a film he helped bring to the screen, Schneider quickly amassed a slate of impressive films and television series, including James Wan’s Insidious (2011), Barry Levinson’s The Bay (2011), William Brent Bell’s The Devil Inside (2011), Oren Peli’s Area 51 (2012), Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem (2012). He has spent the last several years working with powerhouse producer/director, M. Night Shyamalan on Split and Glass.
JACKIE TEPPER is a seasoned Film Industry vet who is most currently Producing Partner of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Dances With Films, aka DWFLA. She spent three years as Vice President of Acquisitions and co-productions at the foreign sales company, E7, and eleven years at New Line Cinema/Fine Line Features as Executive Director of Acquisitions and co-productions. Additionally, Ms. Tepper has been involved in feature film development and finance.
RAQUELLE DAVID is an Australian producer and literary manager based in Los Angeles at Elevate Entertainment, who has worked across film and television for the past eleven years. Her multiple film credits have garnered a number of accolades including nominations for Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, Australian Academy Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award and Screen Producers Australia Award. Raquelle has worked for Goalpost Pictures, Seven Network, Screen New South Wales in Australia and Rhombus Media in Toronto, Canada, under the tutelage of producer Niv Fichman (THE RED VIOLIN, ENEMY, BLINDNESS). Her clients are currently working for Marvel TV, HBO Max, Amazon Studios and Netflix.

SCREENPLAY CONTEST RULES & CONDITIONS:
-Screenplays are welcome from all countries. All writers are welcome to enter the competition.
-All scripts must be submitted in English.
-All entry fees must be paid in U.S. dollars.
-Writers are welcome to submit multiple entries.
-Writers retain all rights to their screenplay.
-Length requirement:
SHORT FILM SUBMISSIONS: Screenplays must be maximum of 30 pages.
FEATURE FILM or TV PILOT SUBMISSIONS: Screenplays must be maximum of 120 pages.
-Scripts must be the sole property of the writer(s), and may not be encumbered by any third party.
-Scripts that have been sold, produced, or are currently under option are not eligible.
-All scripts must be original work.
-The screenplay must be in industry-standard screenplay format.
-Screenplays adapted from your own published books, plays, or other source material are eligible, if you have retained all rights to your work.
-Adaptations from other works are permissible provided you have the writer’s written permission to adapt the work into a short screenplay. Please provide us with written agreement for use.
-All screenplays are to be submitted online only, in PDF form.
-Multiple entries are permissible. No discounts are given to multiple entries.
-All applicants and contestants work is subject to the decision of the Scripts2Screens Judges, whose decisions are final. No appeals to those decisions will be considered.
It is the responsibility of the writer(s) to register their material with the U.S. Copyright Office and/or with the Writer’s Guild of America or the appropriate agency in his/her country. Scripts2screens highly recommends that you do this, before submission of your work, but it is not mandatory.
-By entering this competition, you agree and accept that Scripts2screens will be free to use the title of your script, your name and your likeness for advertising or promotional purposes without any additional consideration.
-Other than the prizes, no other agreement for compensation has been implied.
The pre-production of the winning screenplay will begin no more than one year from the date of the announcement of the winner.
-Script coverage is available for a separate fee.
-The writer(s) understands, agrees to and accepts without any reservation that the writer(s) is an independent contractor, and that Scripts2Screens is not responsible for withholding any taxes or payments to any state, local or federal government agency.
-By submitting your screenplay to Scripts2Screens, and entering this Competition you are agreeing to the Rules set forth in this section, and agree to hold harmless any and all persons or organizations connected or doing business with Scripts2Screens.
