About

The 2018 ScreenCraft Drama Screenplay Competition is now accepting submissions, and this year the jury is better than ever, featuring executives from Fox Searchlight, Verve Talent & Literary Agency, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Management 360.

Feature film dramas drive deep into the heart of what it means to be human, expressing universal themes with nuanced complexity. Our judges are looking for great stories with original voices and honest emotion.

This competition celebrates great dramatic film writing. Whether you’re writing a sweeping period drama or a contained relationship movie, we want to read your script! All entries are eligible for optional feedback from a studio-trained professional reader.

Benefits

The biggest benefits of ScreenCraft Genre contests is the top projects getting read and considered by a carefully crafted industry jury just for the contest. This year's Drama Jury is one of our best juries yet!

Sara Nestor, Verve Talent and Literary Agency

Agent at Verve Talent and Literary Agency. Verve is a talent and literary agency whose clients include Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World), Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine), and Christopher L. Yost (Thor: Ragnorok). Sara is a literary agent whose client Chris Bergoch wrote the critically acclaimed film The Florida Project.

Richard Ruiz, Fox Searchlight

Creative Executive at Fox Searchlight, the production company synonymous with prestige dramas including Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri, The Wrestler, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Best Picture winners Birdman, 12 Years a Slave, Slumdog Millionaire and The Shape of Water.

George Heller, Brillstein Entertainment Partners

Literary Manager George Heller and his assistant Natasha Simone join this jury from Brillstein Entertainment Partners, the company behind such renowned Hollywood talent as Amy Adams, Brad Pitt, Charlie Hunnam, Vin Diesel, Eva Longoria, Timothy Olyphant and many more.

Melissa Breaux, Management 360

Literary Manager at Management 360, the management company for talent such as Bryce Dallas Howard, Shailene Woodley and Greta Gerwig. Melissa Breaux manages actors, writers and directors behind such projects as The Spectacular Now and Bernie.

Plus, the top two winners will work with ScreenCraft to help get their projects in front of many more industry executives, managers, and/or agents who are specifically looking for their type of project. This isn't just a cold query to a list of emails, but curated outreach from the ScreenCraft team.
