About

The Sony Pictures Television Directors' Program is designed to identify and cultivate a rich pipeline of emerging directors to work within SPT and across the studio. SPT Diverse Directors Program Participants are folded into the Sony Pictures ecosystem through meetings with Development Executives, Current Executives, Creative Producers and Showrunners along with workshops, mentorship and career coaching. Once fully immersed at SPT, our directors will be embedded into a show to continue their education and create strong working relationships with our Executive Producers.

Rules

    • • Candidates who have studied filmmaking or have vocational knowledge of the craft strongly preferred.
    • • On-set experience preferred.


    Please include the following with submissions:

    • • Up to 2 samples of work (short films, independent pilots, web series, content shorts, staged performances). Samples must have been produced within three years of this submission process.
    • • Video intro essay (one minutes or less in length)
      • We want to hear directly from our filmmakers about their creative process, their journey and how they creatively align with SPT. Amateur video preferred.
    • • 2 industry references (name, email and phone number) - not a letter but reference we can contact if you make it to the final round. 
    • • Resume: Please include any film studies / education, accolades, awards, film festivals or diversity programs you have been a part of or have received.
    • • Links to IMBd page (mandatory), as well as: personal website, social media, and/or LinkedIn (optional)
