Suzanne Griffin is an award-winning screenwriter living in Brooklyn with her son James and her husband Chris. She received her MFA from NYU’s Graduate Institute of Film and Television, with awards in producing and directing, and won a CINE Eagle for her thesis film. Suzanne is the winner of the Independent Feature Project’s Herbert Beigel Screenplay Award (Jury: Jay Cocks, Mary Harron, Barbara Turner, Lisa Krueger) for her feature Clean. Suzanne was twice a Nicholl Fellowship Semifinalist for her drama Blood and Dreams, and three times a Nicholl Fellowship Quarterfinalist for her drama The Italian Lover, which is now a 2019 Austin Second Rounder, and a 2019 PAGE Awards Top 25 Drama Feature Semifinalist. In 2017, her short screenplay The Chocolate Kandinsky was an Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition Finalist (Top 5). In 2019, her drama feature The Sleeping House was a Top 27 Semifinalist in Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest (1600 entries), and in the top 10% of the Nicholl. The Sleeping House was also a Sundance Screenwriters Lab Second Rounder, a Finalist for the Athena LA Lab and the Atlanta Screenwriters Lab. Suzanne is a 2019 PAGE Awards Quarterfinalist with her tv pilot The Sensualist, as well a 2019 Scriptapalooza Quarterfinalist for The Sleeping House. She has attended both the prestigious Rocaberti Writers Retreat and Stowe Story Labs with partial scholarships. In 2018, Suzanne's drama pilot The Sensualist was a Sundance Institute Episodic Lab Second Rounder, an Athena Film Festival LA TV Lab Finalist, and a BlueCat Screenplay Competiton Top 25 TV Pilot Semifinalist, and is currently a Top 50 Roadmap Writers JumpStart Writing Competition Pilot. In 2019, The Sensualist was an Official Selection of the Richmond International Film Festival Screenplay Competition (Top 7 Teleplays). Suzanne’s new drama pilot Blood and Dreams: Complicit was a 2018 Creative World Awards Teleplay Finalist. The Chocolate Kandinsky was a 2018 Table Read My Screenplay Austin Top 25 Shorts Semifinalist. Suzanne’s drama pilot The Sensualist and her fantasy feature Clean were both named Second Rounders at the 2018 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition.
