This competition is all about being FUN and EASY, just like our NEW screenwriting platform.
All you need to do to enter the "Get Writing" competition is write up a maximum 1-page, dialogue-driven comedy screenplay commenting on the life of a screenwriter. It can be about your personal writing journey, breaking into the industry, a writer's room experience, an element of the writing process you find funny--the possibilities are endless.

Contest:
▻ Enter your 1-page, dialogue-driven comedy screenplay commenting on the life of a screenwriter!
Submission Period:
▻ All entries must be submitted electronically through the official Coverfly or FilmFreeway pages. Entries will be accepted starting on {January 4, 2019, 8:00am PST} and ending on {March 29, 2019; 11:59pm PST}.
Eligibility:
▻ This competition is open to anyone 18 years or older as of the date of entry. Void where prohibited by law.
Entry Requirements:
▻ All entries must be written in English and submitted through the Coverfly or FilmFreeway event page. It is encouraged, but not required, that scripts be written in the traditional screenplay format and font (Courier 12). Screenplays should focus on action and dialogue.
▻ Multiple entries are not allowed.
▻ Maximum length of entries is 1 page. All entries over 1 page will be automatically disqualified.
Winner Selection and Notification:
▻ Winners will be selected by the SoCreate team.
▻ Winners will be notified by phone within (7) days following the selection of the winning entries. SoCreate shall have no liability for Winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within [7 days] from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and release as required, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate Winner selected.
▻ Receipt by Winner of the prize offered in this Campaign is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY WINNER (AT SOCREATE’S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CAMPAIGN, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
Prizes:
▻ No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for SoCreate to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Final Notes:
▻ The entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless SoCreate, its employees, and contractors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, and/or publicity to the entry.
▻ VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
